Community Partner: Boy’s and Girl’s Club
Since its founding in 1860, the Boys & Girls Club has been a trusted national nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the success and well-being of children and teens—especially those from historically underserved or under-resourced communities. With hundreds of Club locations across the country, including several in the Cincinnati area, the Boys & Girls Club provides a safe, stable environment for young people to learn, build relationships, and discover their potential beyond the school day.
Each Club offers a range of age-appropriate programming grounded in youth development principles. These include academic support and tutoring, leadership development, healthy lifestyle education, arts enrichment, and physical activities. In addition to its daily programming, the Boys & Girls Club also plays a vital role in connecting families to essential resources. Many Club sites offer meals, transportation, and access to mental health services. The Club’s presence in local neighborhoods helps bridge gaps in opportunity and promotes equity, inclusion, and community strength.
About Micha

I spent my early years in Dearborn, MI, where I first learned the value of people caring for one another in tight-knit communities. After moving to Solon, OH (near Cleveland), I attended college at Northwestern University, where I also earned my Master of Public Health. In 2022, I returned to Ohio to begin my medical education at the University of Cincinnati, where I’ve since been growing both as a student and a future physician.
As a medical student, I’ve had the opportunity to further explore my interests in public health and education and to find meaningful ways to translate those values into action. Through organizations such as Foot Care for the Soles and Bearcat Sun Protection Outreach Teaching by Students (BSPOTS), I’ve been able to extend care beyond the clinic walls and into the community. These experiences inspired me to participate in the Service and Advocacy elective to strengthen my ability to build genuine community partnerships and develop the skills needed to serve with humility and impact.
Looking ahead, I hope to build a career in dermatology where I can advocate for communities most in need and create spaces centered on trust, empowerment, and education. I envision myself not only as a clinician, but also as a lifelong collaborator, educator, and patient advocate.
