Community Partner:

Talbert House is an organization focused on supporting the various social needs of Cincinnati and the surrounding area. The organization started in 1965 and was originally focused on improving the socioeconomic environment of the community. The founders operated out of the perspective that if individuals have a stable housing situation, then they are more able to become productive, healthy, self-actualizing members of society. The name “Talbert” comes from a sociology professor, Dr. Ernest Talbert, as his sociology frameworks were used to develop the philosophy behind Talbert house.
Today, Talbert House operates with 5 “service lines” which each help support the social needs of the community from a different angle. These include Mental Health, Addiction, Community Care, Housing, and Court & Corrections. Kyler will be working closely with the La Soupe food initiative, which is associated with the Community Care service line, working to provide healthier food options to individuals at risk of chronic disease.
